Screening Room Notebook: Mulholland Drive (2001)

A movie that doesn’t only reward repeated viewings—it requires it.

Tips for enjoying Mulholland Drive?

If you’ve felt put off by the opaqueness of Mulholland Drive in the past, this time go in armed. There’s more garbage written about Lynch’s oeuvre than just about any other director, a lot of asinine message board posters and two-bit bloggers (like me) peddling their interpretive “theories.” If you feel like you need a guide, then go with Andy Ross’ analysis and subsequent audio commentary to the film.
